Minimalist style

Simple, clean lines, a soft, draped silhouette and neutral colour palette - minimalist fashion is all about eliminating extraneous embellishments to achieve pure, pared down elegance. The challenge set down by the OGlam Agency for models reaching stage 2 of their model search was to style a minimalist look for the catwalk.

It's actually harder to achieve than it probably looks, as this look needs to scream quality and perfect fit, and with the barest essentials of accessories to draw the eye, there's really nowhere to hide with this style. It's important to get the whole look too, from top to toe, so neutral makeup, simple hair and shoes and natural nails are important. It's only while I was putting this together I realised just how much we tend to embellish and accessorise in SL fashion, but it's wonderfully refreshing to get down to the bare bones of an outfit and feel simply elegant.

The next stage of the OGlam open casting is an altogether different animal - to style a look based on designer Roberto Cavalli's Fall 2012 collection - so I've been doing a bit of shopping this week - but I'm keeping that one under wraps till after Sunday when we have the next round - keep your fingers crossed for me!!!
