Burlesque Couture

Maybe I was a showgirl in a former life, because one way I love to dress up is in burlesque style - corsets, ruffles and frills always thrill and delight me, it's a theme I keep coming back to.  The advent of rigged mesh and alpha layers in SL has meant corsets have become a whole lot better, with realistic waist reduction for that ultra feminine tight laced line that puts all the curves in just the right places.

Chandra Meehan, the evil genius behind !dM deviousMind (OK, she's actually very nice, but that doesn't have the same ring to it!) has just released her first mesh based outfit "Coco Mon Coeur". The corset is mesh and comes in standard sizzes, and Chandra has thoughtfully provided a few different alpha layers so you can find one to best suit your shape. There are 3 flexi skirt options, and some frilly knickers are provided too in case you want to wear the corset without a skirt. It also comes with pretty pearl adornments at the neckline and round the hips, and a heavy pearl necklace completes the look.

I'm wearing new hair from blackLiquid for the Couturiers Dock - this extravagant sculpted style is perfect for a showgirl look, but will also provide a fantastic finish for an avant garde runway look. I took myself off to the derelict theatre in the Looking Glass sim to take some photos, and while I was there, I was inspired to put together a second showgirl look, more of which very soon!
